Treat animals, humans, and plants ethically equivalent
Acceptable for me is the use of as few meat and fish as possible, few dairy products, no animal products for clothing and housing, and generous donations for the protection of animals and nature. Unacceptable for me are products from “animal factories”, imports without proof of origin, and keeping pets in a species-inappropriate way.
The completely overbred “animals for production“ are no longer capable to do without humans. This accounts for the – only, as I would say – ethical justification to keep animals. Instead, there is no justification in my eyes for all animal testing, species-inappropriate keeping, live animal transportation, hunting for sport or trophies.
The ideal state where all animals would live in their natural environment will be reached only tediously, if ever. On the way animals should be kept as species-appropriate as possible, as if they would live in free nature.
